Happy Birthday!

Tuesday night we celebrated Dave's 35th birthday with a soup & cornbread dinner. It was also the first time that Mom and Dave's parents (Bill and Shirley) met. Brian, Aunt Linda and Uncle George also joined us for the fun. Everyone had a great time visiting and getting to know each other. Dave and I are blessed to come from such great families with such similar values. We had yummy beef vegetable soup and turkey chili. I made Mexican corn bread and beer rolls to go with our soups. Dave chose a pineapple-coconut pound cake for his birthday cake which tasted great with vanilla ice cream. And Mrs. Shirley made her delicious toffee pecan cookies.

Dave made out like a bandit with his birthday gifts, too.

It always fills me with joy to have a house full of people you love to celebrate a happy occasion and enjoy tasty food together.
