Retreat

I attended a retreat/conference with work this past week at Hickory Knob State Resort Park . I'll be the first to admit that I don't know nearly as much about what our state has to offer as I would like to know. I had a preconceived notion that didn't come close to doing the place justice. I'd never been to Hickory Knob before, but it's a beautiful setting. Having nice, cool fall weather made the experience even more pleasant. We didn't have time to explore the bike/hiking trails, golf courses, skeet shooting, etc. but I was delighted just being in a lake-side room with a porch, surrounded by tall pine trees. Each night herds of deer could be seen wandering the grounds. After this short visit I've decided that I would like to make more of an effort to explore this state park and others and enjoy what they have to offer.
