Garden Before and After
I love before and after photos regardless of whether we're talking about people, houses, yards or whatever else. Every summer growing up my dad planted a great garden and I have fun and memories of watering, picking, and eating fresh garden vegetables. It's been five years since I last planted a garden. I've had a spot picked out for several years but for one reason or another just haven't planted anything...until this year!
Due to the combined efforts of Dave and myself, there's now a very nice little garden in the back yard! Check out the before and after photos below and be ready for a future after photo to show how much the plants have grown. Over the next two months, fingers crossed, we'll have tomatoes, bell peppers, squash, zucchini, okra, cucumber, eggplant, basil, and cantaloupe to enjoy and share with friends and family. I'm thinking we're going to be over-run with tomatoes since I planted 3 different kinds (14 plants total), but tomatoes are by far my favorite home-grown veggie. You cannot find a tomato in any store to match the taste and texture of a home-grown tomato. I'm already thinking about canning some tomatoes in case the supply is really large.
Every day we go out to check on our veggies and see their growth progress. It's most obvious with the tomato plants which will soon need to be staked. Ooooh, I can hardly wait for the first taste of home-grown deliciousness!
