We interrupt our regularly scheduled blogging...

I promise I'm working on the wedding posts, but it will be a few more days before I get the photo Cd's to post pics. Not only that, but we (98% Dave) are in the throws of a major home improvement project: installing hardwood floors in the great room and kitchen. Dave is doing such an excellent job. He's very meticulous and precise. These 2 rooms are the only ones in the house that didn't have hardwoods so this is a big improvement and will add to the home's value. Not to mention how much money we're saving by Dave doing the installation.

Any free time is being spent working on this project and others like minding the pool chemicals, cleaning out closets and whole rooms, hauling lots of stuff off to Goodwill to make way for all the new wedding gifts we received, catching up on lots and lots of laundry, and writing a few thank-you notes here and there. We have a long, long list of other projects we want to do, but next at the top of my list is getting closet organizers installed in at least the guest room closet and the hall closet. There's so much wasted space that needs to be utilized. And if the closet space can be maximized then there will be less disorganization throughout the whole house. And that would make me extremely happy.

So while Dave was at work tonight, I cleaned out the guest room closet and then went to Lowes and got all the necessary items to install a closet shelving system in the guest room closet (the smaller of the two). Then I proceeded to install said closet shelving which was easy peasy. About 2 years ago I installed 2 systems in the closets in our bedroom so I knew I could easily tackle this project alone. The harder part was deciding how to fill the newly maximized space and deciding what needed to go to Goodwill. I now have 2 large bags of clothes, 2 old lamps, an old wooden chair and some random stuff to donate. And the only items left out of place are gifts that have to be exchanged, 2 pieces of work out equipment and a few odds and ends that are temporarily relocated due to the floor project. Success!!!

If I'm feeling extra frisky tomorrow night I may move on to the hall closet. We'll see.

What projects are you working on?
