Catching up

So not much has been going on lately. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I have been doing my usual types of things: domestic duties (cooking, cleaning, etc.), a little yard work (I finally finished staining the fence and got the pool back to its beautiful blue shade), some tv (Little House reruns and Days of Our Lives mostly), and some surfing the net (finding great recipes to try and reading blogs). I haven't started on any new projects really. I've almost finished sewing everything for the hall bathroom. The shower curtain and sink skirt are done; I just have to finish two valances. Then on to painting again. I finished up the master bath. I plan to post some pics soon because I am very pleased with the way it all turned out, but I do want to get a few little things done in there first. I briefly caught the craft bug the other day when I was reading some other people's crafting blogs. For a short time I thought it was a great idea to make a king-size quilt for the bed. Then I took a moment to remember how much work goes into even a child-size quilt. I can't promise that I won't lose my head again, though, and decide to embark on the quilting journey; but, for now I've got enough other projects to finish.

Dave started his first of three classes this week that his employer is paying for him to take. He'll be in class Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 each week for almost a year I think. So far he's really enjoying himself, though. They are hands-on classes so he's working on a machine the whole time making different things. He's also been working on the 4-wheeler adding a computer and new handle bars. His computer tracks all sorts of things including speed, rpm's, temperature, and mileage. This coming week he'll be putting on some new shocks. His birthday is coming up at the end of the month and I suppose he'll be wanting some riding gear (pants, boots, so forth) or other accessories for his new favorite past-time.

I am loving the cooler weather! I wish fall in SC lasted longer than 2 weeks, though. Pool season is officially over. The water temp the other day was a chilly 80 degrees--burrrrrrr! I am really looking forward to going quad riding in this cooler weather. Fall is my favorite time of year. And Halloween is my second favorite holiday second only to Christmas. October is a good month.

So that's about all for us.

What about you? What have you been up to lately?
