Birthdays and Cake

Tonight Aunt Linda's family threw her a surprise party for her 60th birthday. I offered to make the cake, and here's what I came up with:


Since Aunt Linda is the Queen of many things, and since she loves to play cards, I decided to incorporate those two facts into the cake.

We had a really nice time at the party, though it may not have been a complete surprise. Dave had to work and wasn't able to attend with me, but Fran kindly sent him home a plate of food and a few slices of cake. The food was delicious. Fran worked really hard to make everything just right; and I think she succeeded! I know Aunt Linda will remember her party for years to come.
